Dog Walks: Devon, Otter Estuary Circuit from Budleigh Salterton, Route:

Standing in Lime Kiln Long Stay Car Park with the Beach behind you, walk forward and exit the Car Park in the top right corner on to the Gravel Path.  Here on the left is a wooden waymarker signing to the left public footpath and to the right Coast Path Ladram Bay and Sidmouth, continue straight ahead on the path.

Follow ahead for a very short distance and you will come to a wooden pedestrian gate, pass through the gate and follow the gravel path ahead.  Here the path runs parallel to the Otter Estuary, you will pass by various information and viewing points, and a bird hide.

After walking along this path for a fair distance you will come to a wooden pedestrian gate, here on the right is a waymarker signing right to Coast Path Ladram Bay and straight on Public Footpath Otterton, you pass through the gate and continue ahead, and cross over the road, and pass through the wooden gate on the other side of the road, and follow the well marked path ahead.

Continue ahead on this gravel and earth path, here you are running parallel to fields on your left and water on your right.  Continue ahead and after another fair distance the path drops down a short slope to the right, then through a wooden pedestrian gate.

On the other side of the pedestrian gate is an earth farm track and opposite is a waymarker stating left to Budleigh Salterton and right to Otterton, here you turn left.  This farm track takes a left handed arc, you will see over on the right the little old aquaduct.  Continue ahead on the arc of this earth farm track until where the track bears right, here there is a stile on the left.

Cross over the stile here on your left into the field, and here you walk across this small top corner of the field to the stile on the other side, it is only a short distance.  Cross over the stile out of the field, and you will now be on an earth farm track, here you turn left and follow the farm track ahead.

After a short distance, where there is an arched fallen branch on the right, and a big metal pipe coming out of the ground on the left, here you continue straight ahead on the path, there is a footpath marker on the right here, you may be passing through an electric fence here, the path now becomes narrower and more grassy.

Follow along this grassy path, you will eventually come to a pond on the left and here the path bears right to a large metal and smaller wooden gate.  Pass through the smaller wooden gate and walk ahead to the edge of the road, here on your right is a footpath marker signing straight ahead Public Footpath Budleigh Salterton.

Here you cross straight over the road and go through the small wooden pedestrian gate on the other side of the road, and then having passed through this gate you need to walk a few more steps and go through another wooden pedestrian gate.  You are now following the path with water on your left.

After a short distance you will come to another wooden pedestrian gate, pass through the gate and follow the path ahead.  Eventually you will see the cricket pitch over on the left, here the path emerges next to a small green area, here you continue straight ahead for a few steps, the path then follows in between hedges.

The path then comes to the edge of a lane, here you cross the lane and turn left up the sloped gravel path which runs parallel to the right side of the lane.  As the path comes to the top of the slope it bears slightly left and you pass through a wooden pedestrian gate, here there is childrens playground on your right.

You follow the path along to the grass and here you are walking parallel to the short fence-line of the playground, over on your right is the Lime Kiln Long Stay Car Park.
